Golf Daddy vs Golfshot
Golfshot is a good app, and it has been around longer than we have. This is where each one fits, so you download the right one for the golf you actually play.
What Golfshot is built for
Golfshot, now part of Golf Genius, is a long-established GPS app known for accurate yardages, 3D flyovers and automatic shot tracking, with a strong Apple Watch app. Its free tier is a solid rangefinder and scorecard; the deeper tools sit in Pro.
On the App Store Golfshot lists itself as “Golfshot Golf GPS Range Finder” with the subtitle “Golf Genius Scorecard Tracker” (golfshot.com, checked 2026-10-02).
Where Golfshot is strong
- Accurate GPS with 3D course previews and distances to any point.
- Automatic shot tracking and club distances in the Pro tier.
- A polished Apple Watch experience for yardages.

You want the most detailed GPS and shot-tracking data for your own game and rarely need to score a group.
Choose Golf Daddy if
You want yardages and a scorecard, but the reason you play is the people you play with, and you want the leaderboard, the banter and the bets handled.
Common questions
Does Golf Daddy work on Apple Watch like Golfshot?
Yes. The Golf Daddy Apple Watch app shows your current hole and distances to the front, middle and back of the green and lets you enter scores from your wrist while the phone stays in the bag.
Does Golf Daddy have 3D flyovers?
No. Golf Daddy shows a GPS map of the hole with front, middle and back yardages and lets you score straight from the map. It does not render 3D flyovers.
Is the GPS free?
GPS on every hole of 2,500+ UK courses is included on the free plan. Pro unlocks 42,000+ courses worldwide.
Golfshot changes its features and pricing regularly, so check its own site for what it includes today. Golf Daddy claims here are checked against the app.
