Your hole and yardage on your wrist
The Apple Watch golf app that keeps your phone in the bag
Start a round on your iPhone and it appears on your Apple Watch. The watch shows the hole you are on and the distances to the front, middle and back of the green from where you are standing, and you can enter your score with a couple of taps.
Scores entered on the watch sync to the phone and the live leaderboard, so your mates see your birdie before you have put the putter back in the bag. On iPhone, Live Activities put the match score on your lock screen too.

Common questions
Does the Watch app work without the phone?
The round starts on the iPhone and the watch takes over on the course. Keep the phone in your bag; the watch shows your hole and distances and takes your scores.
