Common questions
How are Stableford points calculated?
Points = 2 + par − net score, with a floor of zero. Net score is your gross strokes minus the handicap shots you receive on that hole. So a net par is two points, a net birdie three, a net bogey one and a net double bogey or worse zero.
How many shots do I get on each hole?
Your course handicap is spread by stroke index: with 18 you get one shot on every hole; with 21 you get one on every hole and a second on stroke index 1 to 3; with 12 you get one shot on stroke index 1 to 12 only.
What is a good Stableford score?
Thirty-six points means you played to your handicap. Forty or more is a very good day and will cut your index; around thirty is an off day.
Does the calculator use my playing handicap?
Enter whichever handicap you are playing off. In a WHS Stableford competition that is your playing handicap (95% of course handicap); in a social round most groups use the full course handicap.
